1 & 1, now doing business as Ionos, is especially popular in Europe, though it’s certainly used in North America as well. It was founded in Germany all the way back in 1988, so it’s been around for quite some time, which helps explain its dominant market share.

OVH, based in France, is one of Europe's largest web hosts and domain registrars, although OVH does not have a large North American office.
